The Phoenix Theatre Company is Accepting Submissions for In The Heights

(PHOENIX, September 10, 2026) – The Phoenix Theatre Company is currently accepting submissions from Global Majority performers for the upcoming production of In the Heights directed and choreographed by Marissa Herrera. Join us as we transform the Dr. Stacie J. and Richard J Stephenson Theatre into a carnaval del barrio from May 19 through June 20, 2027.

This Tony Award-winning musical asks the question – what would you do if your dreams came true? In the Heights celebrates community roots, while exploring the aspirations of the young residents of the Washington Heights neighborhood through its upbeat and infectious score written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

“As a Latina director and choreographer, In the Heights is deeply personal to me. At a time when our communities continue to fight to be seen, heard, and valued, I’m honored to tell a story that celebrates our beauty, joy, and resilience.” Herrera said.

“At its core, it’s a story about home—how we define it, who we carry with us, and the community that helps shape who we become. I’m incredibly excited to bring this production to life at The Phoenix Theatre Company.”

Interested performers are invited to submit a current headshot and resume, along with any relevant performance reels, vocal videos, dance footage, or other performance materials that showcase their work.

Please send submissions to Auditions@phoenixtheatre.com with IN THE HEIGHTS SUBMISSION in the subject line. Please review the production info and character breakdowns on our website before submitting. Deadline to submit is October 1, 2026.
