Art Cards

Art Card Discount Program Policy

The Phoenix Theatre Company’s Art Card program provides affordable access to live theatre for Arizona-based artists and theatre professionals. If you’ve actively participated in the creation or production of theatre in Arizona within the past year, you may be eligible to receive discounted tickets to our productions.

This policy is subject to change, and any updates will be communicated to Art Card holders through official channels. The Phoenix Theatre Company reserves the right to modify or terminate the Art Card program at its discretion.

The Art Card program provides affordable access to Phoenix Theatre Company-produced performances for Arizona-based theatre artists and professionals who have participated in an eligible Arizona theatrical production within the previous 12 months.

Applicants must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older;
  • Be an Arizona resident or an Arizona-based theatre professional; and
  • Have served in a recognized artistic, technical, production, musical, or theatre-administrative role in Arizona.

Qualifying roles may include:

  • Actors and performers
  • Stage managers and assistant stage managers
  • Production and technical crew, including props, wardrobe, deck, and run crew
  • Costume, scenic, lighting, sound, and projection designers
  • Musical directors and orchestra musicians
  • Theatre administrative staff with proof of current employment at an Arizona theatre organization

The following do not qualify:

  • Concerts, recitals, standalone dance showcases, or other performances without a scripted, narrative-driven theatrical story
  • Productions that have not yet opened or been performed for a public audience
  • Volunteer parent, booster, chaperone, usher, hospitality, general helper, or similar school-production support roles

An unpaid role may qualify when it is a clearly identified artistic, technical, production, musical, or theatre-administrative assignment. Eligibility is based on the role performed, not whether the individual was paid.

Participation in The Phoenix Theatre Company’s Season General Auditions may establish eligibility for the applicable season and will be verified through internal records. It does not guarantee that Art Card access will be added automatically. As a courtesy, the theatre may pre-verify alumni actors who appeared in Phoenix Theatre Company-produced shows during the prior season; all others must apply or renew online.

All applications and renewals must be submitted through the Art Card Application Form on The Phoenix Theatre Company’s website.

Access the Art Card Application Form HERE.

  1. Choose the appropriate proof-of-eligibility category.
Season General participants may select “Participated in Season Generals” for verification against internal records.
  2. Use the correct email address.
Whenever possible, use the email associated with your Phoenix Theatre Company ticketing account. Benefits can only be applied to the approved account connected to that email.
  3. Upload complete proof of participation.
You may submit one document or a combination of documents, but the materials must clearly provide every required detail.

ALL PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY MUST CLEARLY SHOW:

Production name • Performance dates • Venue • Your name and role

PRO TIP: When in doubt if you are submitting a screenshot of a webpage it is preferable to submit the link to the website.

For theatre administrative staff: Include a business card, program staff listing, or HR/staff letter confirming current employment.

Please do not submit:

  • Pay stubs
  • Future offer letters
  • Contracts
  • Offer Letters
  • Resumes, personal websites or headshots
  • Equity Card
  • Cast lists without performance dates or venue

Incomplete proof will not be accepted. This includes pay stubs without production details; contracts or offer letters for future productions; screenshots, posts, or other materials missing required information.

When submitting a link to a digital program, Google Drive file, or similar source, confirm that the link is active and does not require a password, sign-in, or access approval.

Please allow up to 15 days for processing. Eligibility is active only after approval has been confirmed or the Art Card price appears on the approved ticketing account. The Box Office cannot expedite an application because an applicant hopes to attend a specific performance. Please apply early and allow sufficient time for review.

ANNUAL EXPIRATION

Every Art Card expires on August 31, regardless of its approval or issue date. It is not valid for 12 months. Eligibility must be renewed for each new season beginning September 1.

All tickets are subject to availability, and online purchases must be made through the ticketing account connected to the approved email address. By accepting and using an Art Card, recipients agree to use the program only as intended; refrain from misuse, resale, transfer, or profiteering; and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects respect for The Phoenix Theatre Company’s mission, staff, patrons, artists, and values.

The Phoenix Theatre Company may deny an application, request additional verification, correct an expiration date, or revoke access at any time. The program is offered as a courtesy to the theatre community and may be modified, suspended, or terminated at the theatre’s discretion.
