Art Card Discount Program Policy
The Phoenix Theatre Company’s Art Card program provides affordable access to live theatre for Arizona-based artists and theatre professionals. If you’ve actively participated in the creation or production of theatre in Arizona within the past year, you may be eligible to receive discounted tickets to our productions.
This policy is subject to change, and any updates will be communicated to Art Card holders through official channels. The Phoenix Theatre Company reserves the right to modify or terminate the Art Card program at its discretion.
Who Qualifies?
Eligible individuals must:
- Be 18 years or older, and
- Have participated in an Arizona theatrical production within the last 12 months in roles such as:
- Actor/performer
- Stage manager
- Production crew (props, wardrobe, deck crew, etc.)
- Designers (costume, set, lighting, sound, projections)
- Musical director or orchestra musician
- Administrative staff of theatre organizations may also qualify with appropriate documentation (See How to Apply HERE)
Please note:
- Dance, musical, or vocal performances without a scripted, narrative-driven story (e.g., concerts, recitals, standalone dance showcases) are not eligible.
Automatic Eligibility:
- Arizona residents who have participated in The Phoenix Theatre Company’s Season General Auditions or have performed on our stages within the last year are automatically eligible. No application is necessary; your eligibility is pre-verified and loaded in our system.
If you are automatically eligible:
- You may begin using your Art Card benefits immediately online by logging in with the email address connected to your eligibility.
- If you would like a physical Art Card, please contact us at l.terrazas@phoenixtheatre.com to request one. You will receive an automated email when your card is ready for pickup at the Box Office.
How to Apply
You can apply online or in person:
Online Application
- Complete the Art Card Application Form.
- Upload proof of participation showing:
- Production name
- Performance dates
- Venue
- Your name and role
- For admin staff: include a business card, program staff listing, or HR/staff letter confirming current employment.
Unacceptable forms of proof:
- Pay stubs
- Future offer letters
- Contracts for productions not yet performed
Please allow up to 15 days for online processing.
In-Person Request
- Bring a recent program or proof of participation plus a photo ID to the Box Office (Mon–Fri, 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.).
- Our staff will verify your eligibility; your Art Card will be ready for pickup on your next visit.
Using Your Art Card
Art Card users have two options for purchasing tickets:
- Online: You may purchase tickets online on the day of the production. To utilize your Art Card online, log into your account with The Phoenix Theatre Company and enter the promo code “ARTCARD” (all one word). You can select up to two tickets at the Art Card price, and additional tickets will be at full price. Please note that the final price may not show until the checkout process begins. Online purchases are only available on the day of the production.
- In-Person: You can purchase tickets in-person at the Box Office window one hour before showtime. Please arrive early, preferably 60 minutes before showtime. In the event of last-minute rushes at the window, the Box Office will prioritize Will Call and full-price customers before assisting with Art Card ticket purchasers.
Online Ticket Purchases
You can purchase discounted tickets online on the day of the performance only. To ensure you receive the Art Card rate, please follow these steps carefully:
- Visit our website
Go to phoenixtheatre.com and navigate to your chosen performance. - Log in to your account
- Use the same email connected to your Art Card eligibility.
- If you don’t have an account with this email, or if you’re unsure which email is connected to your eligibility, please contact the Box Office at 602-254-2151 for assistance before proceeding — your Art Card benefits are tied to this email.
- Enter the promo code before selecting seats
- Once logged in, enter ARTCARD (all one word, all caps) in the promo code field on the event page.
- Important: You must apply the promo code before choosing seats; otherwise, the discount will not activate.
- Select your tickets
- After entering the promo code, choose up to two seats; they will display the discounted $15 price.
- Review your cart carefully
- Ensure the discounted price appears before completing your purchase.
- If you don’t see the discount, do not finalize your purchase as all sales are final; instead, call the Box Office at 602-254-2151 for help.
- Complete your purchase
- Follow checkout prompts to confirm your order.
Key Reminders:
- Online Art Card purchases are available starting the morning of the performance day.
- Discount pricing updates after the promo code is applied and seats are selected.
In-Person Ticket Purchases
- Buy discounted tickets at the Box Office starting one hour before showtime.
- Bring your Art Card and valid photo ID.
- Arrive early (at least 60 minutes before showtime) to allow time for processing.
- During peak times, the Box Office may prioritize Will Call and full-price customers before Art Card transactions.
Discount Details
- Purchase up to two $15 tickets for any Phoenix Theatre Company-produced show.
- Tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the Art Card holder and a guest.
- Art Cards cannot be used for shows in which the holder is cast or for productions presented by outside organizations on our stages.
- Art Card purchases are final sale; no refunds.

- Refrain from abuse, misuse, or profiteering.
- Contribute to a positive community spirit by engaging in conduct that supports and reflects respect for the mission and values of The Phoenix Theatre Company.
The Art Card program is offered as a courtesy to our theatre community. By participating, recipients help foster an environment of encouragement, respect, and shared enthusiasm for the arts — allowing us to continue providing programs like this for everyone.
The Phoenix Theatre Company reserves the right to deny the issuance or revoke the use of an Art Card at any time. We appreciate your understanding and adherence to these guidelines.
