About the Show
Discover the story of the tenacious women who rallied for their belief that women deserved the right to vote in the Tony Award winning musical, Suffs. From suffragist icons like Alice Paul, Carrie Chapman Catt and Inez Milholland to the young activists who carried the movement forward, Suffs brings one of history’s most important battles to life through a bold, contemporary book and score written by Shaina Taub. This interpretation of America’s history does not shy away from exploring the real issues these women faced while freedom fighting in the early twentieth century, instead embraces the struggles to create an incredible tribute to everyone who didn’t give up, no matter how hard it was.
