Welcome to the 106th Season at The Phoenix Theatre Company, where unforgettable moments spark change, bold stories ignite conversation, and the power of human connection takes center stage.  This season, we bring you stories of courage and compassion with The Roads to Loch Lomond, Come From Away, Hairspray, and Ever After, two powerhouse biographical shows – Looking Over the President’s Shoulder and Tenderly, the Rosemary Clooney Musical, stories that show how our written word can transform a life in Dear Evan Hansen and Daddy Long Legs, an evening with four iconic musicians of the past with Million Dollar Quartet, and we are bringing back a beloved musical retelling of A Christmas Carol with a score written by The Phoenix Theatre Company’s late Resident Music Director, Alan Ruch. 

With bold new works, Arizona premieres, and a new stage, this season marks a pivotal moment in our history, bringing the musicals we love to life on a scale we’ve never been able to achieve—until now. Adding to the excitement, a special engagement will mark the grand opening of the new Dr. Stacie J. and Richard J Stephenson Theatre, with details to be announced in the coming weeks!  As a subscriber, you will be given priority access to purchase tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime opening, before we announce it to the public.

Looking Over President’s Shoulder is the remarkable true account of Alonzo Fields, who served as Chief Butler to four U.S. presidents, bearing witness to pivotal moments in American history. From the shadow of the Great Depression to the dawn of the Cold War, Fields navigated duty and sacrifice, trading his dreams of the opera stage for a front-row seat to history. This powerful solo performance is a tribute to resilience, service, and the unseen figures who help shape a nation.

A story of redemption, second chances, and the power of human kindness, A Christmas Carol is a musical journey through the heart of one man’s transformation. On one fateful Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three ghosts who guide him through his Past, Present, and Future, leading him to discover the true spirit of Christmas. Featuring a stirring score by The Phoenix Theatre Company’s late Music Director, Alan Ruch, and direction by Matthew Wiener, who helmed A Christmas Carol at Actors Theatre for 19 years, this production continues a beloved holiday tradition. Celebrate nearly two decades of magic, music, and storytelling in this cherished classic.

Inspired by true events, the Tony Award-winning musical Million Dollar Quartet takes you inside the famed 1956 recording session at Sun Studio that brought together Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Through electrifying performances of rock ‘n’ roll classics like “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire,” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” this jukebox musical captures the passion, energy, and camaraderie of four music legends at the moment their careers collided.
