Disney’s Frozen is the Broadway musical sensation that takes the beloved animated film and expands its heart, depth, and magic for the stage. Follow the epic story of royal sisters Elsa and Anna as they navigate icy powers, dangerous secrets, and the healing strength of love. Featuring all your favorite songs like “Let It Go,” “Love Is an Open Door,” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” – plus new music written just for the stage – Frozen is a breathtaking theatrical experience for the entire family.

All in all, a huge triumph for TPTC with the technically sharp new Stephenson Theatre and an incredible staging of “Disney’s Frozen” which rivals the Broadway original. Thank TPTC and Michael Barnard for bringing Broadway caliber musicals to local audiences.

Kevin Robert White's music direction is fantastic, with tight control of the large orchestra; it's also nice to see a pit for the orchestra, as the previous theater almost always was forced to situate the orchestra in an off-stage space.

The show’s other undeniable strength is its cast. Caelan Creaser as Elsa delivers a vocal performance that pierces through the orchestration like a shard of ice, controlled and crystalline until she lets it fly. ... Creaser holds back just enough, then releases her voice into the theater, as the sets split apart, projections explode, and Elsa’s gown changes in front of our eyes. It’s gasp inducing. It’s also the theater’s equivalent of fireworks at Disneyland, engineered to thrill, and bringing an end to the first act in the same musically dramatic way that "Defying Gravity" did to Wicked.

Anna is played with warmth, charm, impeccable comic timing, and a beautiful singing voice by Chelsea Cree Groen, making her an absolute delight to follow on her journey.

Joseph Paul Cavazos makes the puppet Olaf a rich animal do-gooder. Brandon S. Chu is a wickedly evil Hans and Adam James King executes Anna’s savior Kristoff with dashing aplomb. Matravius Avent is a regal King with Alyssa Chiarello his perfect Queen. D. Scott Withers plays a wonderfully lusty tavern keeper, Oaken, plus he brightens the magnificent ensemble which dance with spunk and sing with amazing sparkle.
