The Phoenix Theatre Company Launches a New Era with Disney’s Frozen
(September 2, 2025 – PHOENIX) — The Broadway blockbuster Disney’s Frozen will melt hearts at The Phoenix Theatre Company September 24 – October 26, 2025, as the first musical to debut in the brand-new Dr. Stacie J. and Richard J Stephenson Theatre.
Frozen arrives as a dazzling invitation into a new era where state-of-the-art technology and Broadway-caliber artistry combine to expand the possibilities of live performance in Phoenix.
“The debut of this theatre marks a transformative moment for our city’s cultural landscape,” said Producing Artistic Director Michael Barnard. “It’s only fitting that we celebrate with Frozen, a production that unites spectacle, music, and story on the grandest scale.”
Full of humor, adventure, and beloved songs from the Oscar-winning film, Frozen tells the story of Anna’s quest to save her sister Elsa after her magical powers plunge the kingdom of Arendelle into an endless winter. Along the way, she encounters Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf, proving that courage, resilience, and love can thaw even the coldest winter.
Directed by Barnard with choreography by Sam Hay and music direction by Kevin Robert White, the musical features all the songs audiences know and love plus 12 new additions by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the musical brings the world of Frozen to life in a way only live theatre can.
“This is one of the most technically ambitious shows we’ve ever produced. From the sets and costumes to the puppetry and special effects, it’s a chance to push the boundaries of what audiences expect on our stage,” said Barnard. “This production is our invitation to Phoenix to dream bigger with us. Frozen sets the tone for the kind of theatre we’re capable of creating in this new space.”
