Phoenix Theatre is dedicated to the casting and employment of local Phoenix-based talent. Auditions for Actors are hired on a show-by-show basis during the season and auditions for individual shows are by invitation only and set by participation in our general auditions.
Phoenix Theatre produces classic and contemporary Musicals, classic and contemporary Dramas and Comedies, World Premiere Plays and Musicals, New Works development readings and staged readings, Theatre for Youth and numerous outreach and community-based cabarets and adult/children programming.
Production Casting and Callbacks
For Callbacks, the Phoenix Theatre artistic staff, in consultation with directors, invites individual actors to read for roles in specific productions. These callbacks are based on participation in the General Auditions and are held throughout the year on an invitation-only basis in Phoenix, and also possibly in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles or Toronto (CANADA) as the project warrants.
***Please make sure the e-mail address attached to your audition slot account is correct, we will use that address to contact you about callbacks.***
As a courtesy to our artists, once casting has been completed for a specific show, a generated email will be sent to all actors who were called back. Until the email has been sent, the Phoenix Theatre artistic staff, in consultation with directors, is still in the midst of casting.
Seeing your work
Members of the Phoenix Theatre artistic staff try to see as many theatre performances as possible. If you are cast in a production in the Phoenix area, please send us an invitation card to our physical address (ATTN: CAST AND COMPANY MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT). Time permitting, one of the artistic staff members will attend. We regret that it is impossible for us to see everything.
Out-of Town Actors
Throughout the year, Equity actors visiting from out of town are welcome to request an audition appointment by emailing email@example.com. Auditions are scheduled contingent on the availability of the artistic staff.
