Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), a Latino nonprofit community development organization headquartered in Arizona, is helping to produce the play, which tells the true story of Phoenix resident and Dreamer Tony Valdovinos.
¡Americano!, a contemporary musical telling the true story of an Arizona Dreamer and his inspiring fight for societal- and self-acceptance, will make history in March as the first Arizona-birthed musical to open Off-Broadway in New York.

Steel Magnolias
Steel Magnolias runs Aug. 18 through Sept. 12 at the Hormel Theatre.
Steel Magnolias follows six friends over the course of several years as they face life’s challenges and find comfort in one another.
Steel Magnolias was written by Robert Harling, who based the story on his experience with his sister's death at a young age because of diabetes complications.
“Many people are familiar with the movie Steel Magnolias, but the play is notable for having one setting, Truvy’s beauty parlor, an all-female cast, and witty, biting lines,” said Karla Koskinen, director.
"This play demonstrates the importance of living in the moment and appreciating what you have, because you never know when life will change," Koskinen continues.
Cast members include Elyse Wolf as M’Lynn Eatenton and Emily Mohney as Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie.

Pump Boys and Dinettes
Valley audiences will enjoy the rock-a-billy fun of Pump Boys and Dinettes, which runs July 21 through Aug. 22.
Audiences will be treated to a Grand Ole Opry-style evening of country western songs about heartbreak and merriment.
Additionally, each cast member plays their own instruments including guitars, piano, bass and even kitchen utensils, pots and pans.
Director D. Scott Withers says of the show, “Pump Boys and Dinettes is charming, sentimental, warm and fun. The music is toe-tapping and the characters are relatable and full of life.”
With book, lyrics and music by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann, Pump Boys and Dinettes was nominated for both a Tony Award® and a Drama Desk Award for Best Musical.
