Sheila Head

Sheila has written for ABC/Disney, Garrison Keillor, and PBS’s Cyberchase, and contributed to The Next Big Thing on WNYC/NPR. For Oxygen she created and wrote the television and web series The Ruth Truth, based on her experiences as a private investigator in NYC’s Chinatown. Playwriting credits include The Egg Game (The Present Company) and Over My Head (Ensemble Studio Theater). In 2004 Ars Nova commissioned and produced her one-woman show Head Games, about Sandra O’Day, an ex-con motivational speaker who is actively managing her anger -- and Sheila continues to write, improvise and perform as Sandra O’Day. She was a regular storyteller at The Mosquito at Dixon Place and is a founding member of the comedy group The Heartless Floozies.
