Lauran Stanis

Lauran is thrilled to be creative in the first ever TPTC Choreographer Lab. TPTC theatregoers may remember seeing Lauran’s choreography in this season’s smash Singin’ in the Rain, onstage in White Christmas or teaching tap, jazz, and musical theatre for the last nine years in the Summer of Dance program. Lauran has danced her way across the country as a performer and choreographer, most recently working for Circa ‘21, Fort Peck Summer Theatre, and Arizona Broadway Theatre. Lauran is the dance teacher at Metro Tech High School where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2018. In 2020 she was awarded the Arizona Dance Educator of the Year and in 2021 she was nominated for the Arizona Governor’s Arts Award in Arts Education. Lauran holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Millikin University, an MA in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado and, in May, will complete her MFA in Dance through Montclair State University where she has focused on the intersection of musical theatre dance and film.
