Geno Young Music Director: Performing Artist, Producer, Musical Director, and Educator are a few spaces in which Geno Young’s musical influence lives. A Dallas, Texas native, Geno holds a BFA from Howard University and a Master of Music Education degree from Boston University.

Geno has toured extensively internationally as a performer, musical director, producer, conductor, and lecturer. His tenure as musical director/arranger/producer for Erykah Badu cemented him as a force on the contemporary music scene and earned him a Grammy nomination. He has served as Governor of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Texas) and is a voting member of the Recording Academy.

Geno is equally as comfortable pursuing scholarly efforts and takes pride in exposing future generations to the power of music via the music classroom. He is truly grateful to be working with The Phoenix Theatre Company and sends congratulations to this stellar cast and creative team.
