Chanel Bragg is ecstatic to return to The Phoenix Theater Company after directing the 104th Season opener, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill. This will mark Chanel’s fourth festival with TPTC as a featured director. Last season, she was chosen as one of the directors for her favorite festival event, the 24-hour Theatre Project. Other notable festival offerings include Clickbait (David Don Miller) and Enferma (Stratton Rushing). Regional: The Glass Menagerie (Arizona Theatre Company), Stick Fly (St. Louis Repertory Theatre), Clydes (Boise Contemporary Theater -2024), Reggie Hoops (Profile Theatre), Los Feliz (UC Santa Barbara), and The Hula Hooping Queen (Childsplay). Other notable directing credits include: The Piano Lesson, Hair, The Wolves, The Last Five Years and The Alexander Project (Hamilton revue)- (Live Nation (2019). Chanel served as Associate Artistic Director for Arizona Theatre Company for 3 seasons, is Founder of United Colours of AZ Theatre, and was highlighted in both the PHOENIX Magazine's "Great 48" and American Theatre Magazine’s “10 rising Black Women to Watch in the American Theatre.”
