Summer of Dance FAQ

What is Summer of Dance?

Summer of Dance is an eight-week dance intensive, offering 12 adult classes and 4 junior classes a week in a variety of styles. The classes are focused on developing skill, increasing dance vocabulary, sweating, and having fun! Combinations are not repeated so if you miss a class, you will not fall behind.

This program is not about competing. It’s about creating community and encouraging one another to push beyond our boundaries to develop a stronger level of physical control and expression. The program is designed for students who are looking to brush up their skills and/or advance their abilities so they can nail their dance audition, burn some calories, and have a great time along the way.

Do I need experience to attend Summer of Dance?

Some classes are more advanced than others and are noted as advanced or intermediate in the class description. However, for most classes, no experience is necessary – just a love for dance! All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Who teaches Summer of Dance classes?

All instructors have a vast knowledge of theatre and concert dance and have been teaching with us for many years. We’re thrilled to welcome Nick Flores, Hillary “Tink” Hirsch, Molly Lajoie, Nicole Olson, and Lauran Stanis back for another awesome summer! You may have even enjoyed their work during on our stages, as many have not only performed in our productions but choreographed them!

What ages can attend Summer of Dance classes?

This year we are offering junior classes for ages 8-14 and adult classes for ages 15 and older.

Are weekly classes the same during June and July?

No! In July there will be a slight change in the weekly schedule and a new class offering, Audition Technique, that is specific to July only.

How much do classes cost?

Drop-in classes for both juniors and adults cost $12. All You Can Dance Passes are $120 for juniors and $180 for adults – a great value if you plan on sweating through the summer with us! Purchase a pass online.

Where do I purchase a pass?

All You Can Dance Passes and Drop-In Passes must be purchased online. You can purchase a pass when you arrive before your class starts on a mobile device, but passes will not be available for purchase on-site through any other means.

How do All You Can Dance Passes work?

An All You Can Dance Pass gives you access to every single class taught during Summer of Dance! All you need to attend class is your proof of purchase and then you’re ready to “kick ball change” through June and July! Passes can be purchased online before class starts – if you want, you can purchase one on your mobile device on campus before class starts! All You Can Dance Passes are not available for purchase on-site.
