A "90th" Welcome from our Board President

Many people are surprised when they learn Phoenix Theatre is 90 years old, particularly when Arizona itself is just a few years its elder. So I have to say, in addition to the five C’s of AZ you know … copper, cotton, cattle, citrus and climate … I would add a sixth, and that is Culture (at least since 1920).

We are doing a lot of celebrating and commemorating this season, not just for our 90th year, but for the body of remarkable work we’re bringing to this city. We hope that in addition to great entertainment, the talent representing Phoenix Theatre – both on stage, back stage and back office – will help enable our most important customers (that’s you, by the way) to enter a world that expands your minds as well as your hearts.

Laugh when we’re funny, feel free to cry when we touch on something significant, and, by all means, when you enjoy yourselves, applaud when the curtain comes down. We love applause.

What a privilege it is to serve as the Theatre’s president … the place makes me tingle.
